Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas Acted For Accion Digital Transformation Fund and Fundamentum Partnership Fund II on Investment in Epimoney

Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas (CAM) acted for Accion Digital Transformation Fund, LP (Accion) and The Fundamentum Partnership Fund II (Fundamentum) in their investment in the Series C round of Epimoney Private Limited, which raised approximately INR 290 crores (USD 35 million) from multiple investors including Nuveen and Maj Invest.

CAM advised extensively on transaction structuring and regulatory aspects in relation to the investment in the company, which is a non-deposit taking NBFC. The transaction team was led by Partners Ruetveij Pandya and Jeeta Nayak, with support from Associates Sajith Anjickal and Sana Sarosh.

The deal team was led by Partners Ritika Rathi and Sreetama Sen, with support from Principal Associate Nooreen Haider and Senior Associate Bhadra Nair. The deal team was further supported by Senior Associate Gauri Devpura and Associates Poorva Bhatia, Soumya Gupta, Aakash Rao, Meghna Bhaskar, Sanya Rizvi, Arunimaa Jaiswal, and Anoushka Soni in conducting legal due diligence.

Partner Sara Sundaram, with support from Senior Associate Kritika Angrish, Consultant Somesh Lund, and Associate Soham Bamane, conducted the anti-bribery and anti-corruption due diligence.

Partner Vijay Chauhan and Associate Srishti Chhabra advised on competition law-related aspects of the transaction. Senior Advisors Ganesh Kumar and Lily Vadera provided their guidance on regulatory aspects of the transaction.

The transaction team also received guidance from Managing Partner Cyril Shroff.

The transaction document was signed on 21st August 2024 and was closed on 12th September 2024.
