OPPO accused of Patent Infringement over LTE technology by Sharp

Sharp Corporation that designs and manufactures electronic products has filed patent infringement lawsuits against OPPO and OPPO Japan in the District Court Munich I and District Court Mannheim alleging that Oppo infringed several of its 4G/LTE patents covering communication technologies used in smartphones.
According to a Press Release issued by Sharp Corporation, the company has also filed damage lawsuits for patent infringement in the Tokyo District Court against OPPO Japan with the same allegations. It has also been stated in the Press Release that “Sharp views its patent portfolio as a major resource for its business development. Sharp will take necessary actions to protect its intellectual property rights.”
Sharp is owned by Foxconn Electronics, based out of Taiwan. Oppo is a part of BBK Electronics, a Chinese company, which owns brands like OnePlus, Vivo, and Realme.
