NCLT Clears JSW Energy’s ₹16,084 Cr Resolution Plan For KSK Mahanadi Power
The National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), Hyderabad bench, has approved the ₹16,084 crores Resolution Plan submitted by JSW Energy Limited for KSK Mahanadi Power Company Limited (KMPCL), a thermal power company based in Chhattisgarh.
JSW Energy’s plan was put forward under the Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process (CIRP) of KMPCL. According to a regulatory filing by JSW Energy on October 29, 2024, the financial proposal was declared the highest by the Resolution Professional (RP) following a competitive challenge process.
KMPCL had been admitted to the CIRP in October 2019, and the resolution plan marks a significant step in the ongoing restructuring process.
