Infosys Chairman of the Board (non-executive) Nandan Nilekani stated in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) that recent speculations suggesting the involvement of the company’s co-founders in the whistleblower complaints are not true.
He stated that such speculations are appalling and seem to be aimed at tarnishing the image of some of “the most accomplished and respected individuals.”
“Infosys strongly condemns the mischievous insinuations made by anonymous sources against the co-founders and former colleagues, suggesting their involvement in the recent whistleblower allegations,” his statement to the BSE read.
Nilekani stated in his filing to the BSE that he has deep regard for the life-long contribution of all Infosys co-founders.
“They have built this institution and have served this company selflessly and even today remain committed to the long-term success of Infosys,” Nilekani’s statement to the BSE read.
His statement to the BSE also mentioned that an audit committee has appointed an external law firm to conduct an independent investigation into the allegations.
“We will share the outcome of the investigation at the relevant time with all stakeholders,” read Nilekani’s statement.
