UK MP, Stella Creasy proposes the Right to Abortion in Bill of Rights

United Kingdom MP, Stella Creasy has suggested proposing an amendment "to protect a woman's right to choose" to the government's Bill of Rights, which was introduced last week by Justice Secretary Dominic Raab.

This change came after the antagonising judgment of the US Supreme Court which took the world by storm. The US SC overturned [in the case Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization] a 50- year ruling of the case Roe V. Wade, and held there is no US constitutional right to abortion.

The UK MP urged the Government to vote for the amendments to include the right to abortion and "completely safeguard the rights of women to bodily autonomy."

Earlier last week, French Prime Minister Élisabeth Borne also expressed the French Government to include the right to abortion in France's Constitution.

Currently, only Northern Ireland legally protects the Right to Abortion.
