The largest international legal firm in the world, Dentons, has hired Liviu Togan as a partner to lead and oversee the White Collar and Government Investigations practice in Bucharest alongwith Cosmin Cretu, a senior associate.
Liviu Togan has worked in the fields of white-collar crime, government investigations, compliance, litigation, and arbitration for 23 years. In several investigations and prosecutions before Romanian courts. He has successfully defended companies, top executives, government officials, and other parties. He has also provided clients with guidance on complicated legal proceedings involving a range of criminal charges as well as regulatory compliance throughout his career. Assisting companies with sophisticated internal investigations as well as compliance program design and implementation are other services he offers. Among his duties, conducting audits of corporate compliance to spot potential threats and take appropriate action to fix them are also included. He also acts as counsel for clients in corporate and insolvency matters, as well as administrative and tax disputes.
Compliance, regulatory advisory and criminal law are Cosmin Cretu's primary areas of expertise. He has extensive expertise counselling regional and international businesses on criminal defence problems, notably in cases involving white-collar crime where the alleged damages exceeded €500 million. Additionally, he defends senior managers accused of a variety of white-collar crimes. In several criminal law conflicts, he often represents clients before prosecutors and judges while also conducting internal investigations.

As of November 1, 2022, Dentons has hired four people in Bucharest, Romania; these individuals will be part of the firm's new White Collar and Government Investigations division. In Bucharest, Adrian Cristea has become a senior associate on the litigation team. He represents local and foreign businesses in court cases involving commercial, civil, and administrative matters and has ten years of professional expertise. In doing so, he also offers legal counsel regarding business, tax, real estate, and energy matters.
Diana Ceparu has joined real estate practice; Nadia Al Battah has joined corporate/venture technology and Associate Alexandra Sofineti joined banking and finance practice.
