Delta Announces Legal Action Against Crowdstrike And Microsoft For Software
Rejects criticism by American cybersecurity technology company
Delta Air has stated it is taking legal action against CrowdStrike and Microsoft after a global outage sparked by a faulty software update disrupted the travel plans of 1.3 million Delta passengers last month.
Claiming that it cost the airline over $500 million, it is pursuing damages for the system’s crash.
Representing Delta, lawyer David Boies said, "There is no basis to suggest that Delta was in any way responsible for the faulty software that crashed systems around the world, including Delta's.”
Boies also rejected CrowdStrike's contention that the company's liability was capped at "single-digit millions."
