Sullivan & Cromwell And Freshfields Advised On Major Tire Business Deal Between Goodyear And Yokohama

U.S. law firm Sullivan & Cromwell is representing Goodyear Tire & Rubber in the sale of its Off-the-Road equipment tire business to Yokohama Rubber of Japan. Yokohama Rubber is advised by Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in this transaction.

According to Reuters, Goodyear’s Off-the-Road division produces tires for industries such as mining and construction.

The acquisition is part of Yokohama Rubber's strategy to enhance its product portfolio and expand its offerings in non-agricultural tire segments.

The Freshfields team overseeing the deal includes Partners Paul Tiger and Sebastian Fain in New York, and Takeshi Nakao and Noah Carr in Tokyo. They are supported by Counsel Enrique Dancausa and Senior Associates Max Sanders, Marissa Yu, and Hugh Goodwin.
