Nishimura & Asahi has advised Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG), Japan's largest banking group, on its $393 million investment in Philippine fintech company Mynt, securing an 8% stake in the firm.
Mynt, also known as Globe Fintech Innovations, is the operator of GCash, the Philippines' leading e-wallet brand and a potential IPO candidate. Mynt is a joint venture involving Alibaba's Ant Group, Philippine conglomerate Ayala, and Globe Telecom.
