Herbert Smith Freehills Advised Exicom On Strategic Acquisition Of Tritium's Businesses
Herbert Smith Freehills has advised Exicom Tele-Systems Limited (Exicom), India's largest EV charger manufacturer headquartered in New Delhi, on the acquisition by its Netherlands-based subsidiary, Exicom Power Solutions BV, of the assets and business of Tritium Group (Tritium) in the US and Australia through insolvency proceedings.
Exicom, a market leader in power management solutions listed in India, provides advanced EV charging and energy storage solutions across more than 15 countries. Tritium, previously listed on NASDAQ and headquartered in Australia, specializes in designing and manufacturing proprietary hardware and software for advanced DC fast chargers for electric vehicles (EVs).
This landmark acquisition positions Exicom for significant long-term growth, adding Tritium's manufacturing facility in Tennessee, US, and a world-class engineering center in Brisbane, Australia, to Exicom's existing operations in Asia.
Herbert Smith Freehills’ cross-border team, led by Corporate Partner Siddhartha Shukla in London and Paul Apáthy, Partner and global co-head of Restructuring, Turnaround, and Insolvency in Australia, collaborated closely with Exicom's senior management and Indian law firm Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas.
