Dentons HPRP advised PT Indonesia Infrastructure Finance in granting term loans to develop hydropower plant in Sumatra

The lending was valued at Rp288 billion

Dentons HPRP has assisted PT Indonesia Infrastructure Finance (IIF) in granting a senior term loan to PT Phakpak Bumi Energy (PBE) for a capacity of 10 MW hydropower plant project in North Sumatra.

IIF is a non-banking private institution specializing in financing infrastructure projects, particularly commercially viable projects. It endeavors to catalyze the growth of structures across the country while adhering to international standards on social and environmental safeguards.

PBE is a renewable energy company, developing a hydropower plant project in Phakpak Bharat District, North Sumatra, utilizing the flow of the Lae Ordi River.

Recently, IIF and PBE signed an agreement highlighting IIF’s contribution to the equitable distribution of electricity in Lampung and North Sumatra. Given the emphasis of the Government of the Republic of Indonesia on expediting infrastructure development nationwide, particularly for power plants fueled by renewable energy, IIF’s actions are in line with the country’s goals.

The assistance rendered by Dentons HPRP included legal advisory, due diligence, preparing transactional documents, and coordinating with IIF, PBE, and other supporting professionals involved in the transaction.

The team was led by Partners Al Hakim Hanafiah and Winda Tania. They were supported by Senior Associate Ken Atyk Nastiti and Associate Beatrix Deviana Mukin. Also, Raisha P. Diamar acted as the sole legal counsel.
