Strengthening Riyadh Team: Kirkland & Ellis Adds Ahmed Alrikhaimi as Partner
Kirkland & Ellis has bolstered its Construction and Projects practice in Saudi Arabia with the addition of Partner Ahmed Alrikhaimi. Previously based in Houston, Alrikhaimi has now relocated to the firm’s regional headquarters in Riyadh following his promotion to Partner on October 1.
Alrikhaimi will work alongside Construction and Projects Partner James Clark, who was appointed in October 2023 to launch the practice in Riyadh. With expertise in Project Development, Financing, and Corporate Transactions within the Energy and Infrastructure sectors, Alrikhaimi’s work spans complex energy transactions and projects, including Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contracts. His background as a
Mechanical Engineer and former Aramco employee adds depth to his experience advising “sponsors, owners, and developers on high-value projects ranging from $100 million to over $2 billion.”
Kirkland & Ellis established its Riyadh office in October 2023, led by Founding Partner and Middle East Practice Head Kamran Bajwa. The office has since expanded to over 20 legal professionals, covering Corporate, Capital Markets, Projects, and Restructuring. Bajwa noted that “while organic growth is anticipated, the firm is focused on building a top-tier team to best serve client needs.”
In addition to Alrikhaimi’s arrival, Partner Husni Almousli, specializing in Capital Solutions and Financial Restructuring, relocated from London earlier this year to further support the firm’s growth in Riyadh.
