Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas (“CAM”) advised the Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (GEAPP) in extending a concessional finance of up to INR 807,870,000 by way of

INR denominated ECB (Concessional Loan) to KILOKARIBESS PRIVATE LIMITED (an IGT Group SPV) (Borrower) for implementing India’s First Commercial Utility-Scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Project to secure regulatory approval.

The 20 MW/40 MWh BESS will be strategically installed at BRPL’s 33/11 kV Kilokari substation with a view to improve the power quality and enable 24/7 reliable power in the area for over 12,000 low-income consumers.

The transaction team at CAM was led by Ramanuj Kumar, Partner & Co-Head - Projects (Energy & Energy Transition); and Aiswarja Mohanty, Partner; with the support from Shrey Srivastava, Principal Associate.
