Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas advised Kotak Mahindra Bank Limited and other investors on Sustainable Energy Infra Trust’s INR 750 crore debt securities issuance

Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas advised as the legal counsel to the investors, including Kotak Mahindra Bank Limited and India Infrastructure Finance Company Limited, in connection with the maiden issuance of senior, secured, rated, listed, redeemable, non-convertible debt securities by Sustainable Energy Infra Trust (“Issuer”), acting through its investment manager Sustainable Energy Infra Investment Managers Private Limited.

The issuance was conducted on a private placement basis and involved debt securities having a face value of INR 1,00,000 (Indian Rupees One Lakh only) each, aggregating up to INR 750,00,00,000 (Indian Rupees Seven Hundred and Fifty Crores only). The proceeds from the issuance are to be used for, inter alia, the repayment of existing facilities availed by the Issuer and for meeting transaction-related expenses.

The transaction team was led by Subhojit Sadhu (Partner – Finance & Infrastructure; Director, CAM Middle East) and Gautam Saran (Partner), with assistance from Kavya Mathur (Senior Associate), Aiyushi Mehrotra (Associate), and Rudraksh Karnik (Associate).

Santosh Janakiram (Senior Partner) and Kranti Mohan (Partner and Head – REITs and InvITs) provided strategic inputs on the transaction.
