Simon Shooter
Simon Shooter is a Partner at Bird & Bird and heads the International Commercial Group. He founded the firm's cybersecurity team in 2010. He provides comprehensive legal support to clients across various industries, with a strong focus on technology. His expertise spans the buying and selling of goods and services, outsourcing, and complex IT transactions, particularly within the financial services sector. With a diverse client base, including racing car engine designers, international investment banks, and NHS Foundation Trust Hospitals, he applies practical commercial law to complex business relationships. Over the years, he has developed significant expertise in outsourcing and IT procurement across domestic, nearshore, and offshore markets. Starting his career as a litigator in commercial disputes, he combines contentious and non-contentious experience to offer flexibility and valuable insights in strategy and negotiation. He also helps clients design and implement compliance measures, addressing regulations like the UK Bribery Act, the Modern Slavery Act and the Network and Information Systems Regulations among others.
