On Wednesday, the National Institution for Transforming India (NITI) Aayog appointed V Lakshmikumaran, Founder of Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan, as one of four distinguished fellows for a one-year term. With 35 years of legal expertise, he specializes in advising companies on various taxation aspects, including International Taxation, Transfer Pricing, GST, Customs, and more. The government's press release highlighted his role in managing disputes between companies and government authorities globally.
Joining NITI Aayog alongside Lakshmikumaran are distinguished individuals like Prof (Dr) Anoop Singh, a member of the fifteenth Finance Commission; Dr OP Agarwal, a seasoned IAS officer with a background in Transport Economics; and Dr Ajai Chowdhry, co-founder of HCL, credited for his pivotal role in India's electronics industry. The government expects these new members to contribute significant work experience and expertise in addressing key social, economic, and technical issues.
