Linklaters Launches AI Sandbox To Drive Innovative Legal Solutions
Linklaters Launches AI Sandbox to Drive Innovative Legal Solutions
Linklaters has introduced an AI Sandbox designed to accelerate the development of AI- driven solutions, many inspired by ideas from within the firm. These solutions will be integrated into the firm’s proprietary chatbot, Laila, or developed in collaboration with external vendors.
The innovation team at Linklaters recently concluded its second successful AI ideas campaign, utilizing its Ideas Hub platform. A cross-functional team assessed submissions against various criteria, advancing select concepts for prototype development. The shortlisted ideas include tools for building credentials based on lawyer profiles and deal experience, transposing edits across related document suites, automating regulatory analysis, and generating matter metadata and credentials directly from documents.
The AI Sandbox strategy incorporates a workbench of leading AI developers to fast-track these ideas. Initial collaborators include Simplexico and Springbok AI, with plans to onboard additional developers to support prototype design, testing, and delivery.
Tom Quoroll, Partner, expressed enthusiasm, stating, “We are thrilled to launch our AI Sandbox, which will help to supercharge the delivery of AI-based solutions across our business so that our people can apply these transformative technologies in service of our clients.”
Greg Baker, Senior Lawyer and Global Head of Innovation, added, “Much like the technology, we are not standing still. We’ve learnt what it takes to deliver meaningful solutions, we’ve brought in new capabilities and resources, and our understanding of where this technology can add value has continued to evolve - all of which has been reflected in the quality of ideas we receive and our plans to operationalise them.”
The AI Sandbox is part of Linklaters’ broader efforts to enhance its technological capabilities, including scalable modular solutions for search, extraction, analysis, and drafting.
