ICEGATE issues advisory for electronic scrip
It is a complete step-by-step guide for the users to create an account
The Indian Customs and Central Excise Electronic Commerce/Electronic Data Interchange Gateway-Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (ICEGATE-CBIC) has issued an advisory for Electronic Scrip (eScrip) to avail export incentive schemes. These include the Rebate of State and Central Taxes and Levies (RoSCTL) and the Remission of Duties and Taxes on Exported Products (RoDTEP).
(ICEGATE is a portal that provides e-filing services to the trade and cargo carriers and other clients of the Customs & Central Excise Department (collectively called the trading partners).
ICEGATE-CBIC has developed a module eScrip to provide a digital service to the exporters to avail benefits defined under various incentive schemes like RoDTEP and RoSCTL. The schemes provide rebates of Central, state and local levies, which are not refunded under any other scheme.
The provisions include that - to avail the scheme, the exporter has to make a claim for RoSCTL/RoDTEP in the shipping bill by making a declaration; on filing the EGM, the Customs will process the claim; thereafter, a scroll with all individual shipping bills for the admissible amount would be generated and made available in the users account at ICEGATE; the user can create an eScrip account; the exporter can log in into his account and generate eScrip after selecting the relevant shipping bills.
Importantly, RoSCTL would be given beyond 31 December 2020, till 31 December 2024 instead of RoDTEP. The implementation of RoSCTL and RoDTEP schemes has been developed in the Custom Automated System.
Presently, the users can log into their ICEGATE account and create the eScrip Account, as scrip generation provision will be made functional on the issuance of the corresponding notification by the department and availability of the budget.
