Dharma Produced "Jugg Jugg Jiyo" to be screened before Court over Copyright issues
Dharma Produced "Jugg Jugg Jiyo" to be screened before Court over Copyright issues.
The upcoming film "Jugg Jugg Jiyo" is ordered to be screened at the commercial court of Ranchi after it faced copyright turmoil over a suit filed by a Ranchi Based writer Vishal Singh.
The Film is ordered to be screened before its release on 24 June 2022.
It is alleged that the Appellant had mailed parts of his story "Punny Rani' to Dharma Productions and the present Film is made without his knowledge. He further claimed that he was not given credit for the said Film.
The Appellant prayed for a compensation of 1.5 Crores.
A Single Judge Bench of the Ranchi Commercial Court will adjudicate the present matter.
The Dharma-produced Film had earlier faced copyright infringement when a Pakistani singer Abrar Ul Haq accused the Producers of copying his song 'Nach Punjaban' and releasing it without his permission.
The present case will be judged based on any substantial similarity between the two Films.
