Keeping in view the spike in number of Covid-19 cases, the Delhi High Court extended suspension of its as well as subordinate courts’ physical functioning till July 15.
“The hon’ble administrative and general supervision committee of this court while considering further extension of suspended functioning of this court and taking note of the prevalent situation has been pleased to order that the suspended functioning of the High Court of Delhi and the courts subordinate to it shall stand extended till July 15,” an office order of the high court, signed by Registrar General Manoj Jain, read.
All the pending matters, listed before this court from July 1 to to July 15, would stand adjourned to the corresponding dates between August 26 and September 9, respectively. All the High Court Benches would, however, take up urgent matters through video link as per the roster.
The country continued to be the fourth worst hit among 213 countries, with 2,10,120 active cases and 16,475 deaths. So far, 3,21,722 people have been discharged from hospitals. The recovery rate is 58.56%.
