Ashish Prasad and Mukta Dutta form own firm Acara Law
Individually, they possess over 20 years of experience in dispute resolution
Ashish Prasad and Mukta Dutta, Partners in the Dispute Resolution Practice at the Delhi office of Economic Laws Practice have quit the firm. They have set up their own boutique law firm Acara Law LLP.
The other four team members from ELP who have joined them at Acara are Abhishek Shivpuri (Associate Partner), Kaustubh Mishra (Principal Associate), Pruthvi Dhinoja (Senior Associate), and Rahul Tyagi (Senior Associate).
The team is experienced in representing and advising clients in international and domestic arbitration in disputes arising out of construction contracts, joint ventures, and shareholders' disputes.
The firm will specialize in the areas of commercial litigation, dispute resolution, arbitration, advisory and regulatory matters.
In the past, the team has worked on matters related to infrastructure and energy laws, particularly relating to mining and environment, writ proceedings challenging arbitrary state action, insolvency and bankruptcy proceedings, white-collar crimes, electricity laws, and securities laws.
Ashish Prasad, the Founding Partner at Acara Law, said, "Acara does not believe in restricting practice areas of its team and wherever required, our team will work through strategic collaborations with experienced professionals across specializations (disputes, arbitration, corporate, trade or tax) to bring the best solution to its clients."
On their transitioning from the firm, Suhail Nathani, the Managing Partner at Economic Laws Practice said, "For over two decades, ELP has inculcated a spirit of entrepreneurship in our professionals as a part of our intergenerational firm model. We understand and expect that this means sometimes embarking on separate paths as we continue to grow. We wish Prasad and his team all the best as they embark on this journey for themselves."
Nathani added, "ELP added two partners and six professionals to its litigation team in Delhi in the past 18 months and we continue to support our clients with a robust team of litigation professionals who will continue to deliver outstanding value to our clients in every jurisdiction in which we operate."
