The ANNUAL LEGAL ERA MALAYSIA AWARDS shall be a Gala Event as global legal luminaries including law firm partners, corporate counsel, legal heads and lawyers, and members of the academia join us amidst Kuala Lumpur’s environs world-famous for skyscrapers, cultural diversity, delectable food, and unique sights.
The Awards are categorized as Law Firms, In-House, and Individual, to reflect the painstaking work undertaken by law firms, legal teams, and legal practitioners in Malaysia.
This is also a perfect platform to network and meet like-minded people as we celebrate the Legal Finesse, Innovation, and accomplishments of Leading Lawyers, In-House and Law Firms in Malaysia.
Bound by robust economic partnership and close people-to-people ties, Malaysia and India share a long-standing and substantive relationship dating back to 1957. Both countries have traditionally been close and friendly. And this year, India and Malaysia marked 66 years of diplomatic ties.
In 2022, India was Malaysia’s 11th largest trading partner, with total trade amounting to $19.63 billion, an increase of 23.6% compared to the value recorded in 2021. Today, India is among Malaysia’s top 10 trading partners and Malaysia is our third largest trading partner in ASEAN. Most recently, in early November 2023, both countries reviewed progress in their cooperation in defence, security, trade, health, energy, education, tourism, and people-to-people ties. There is scope for exploring cooperation in new areas like the digital domain, renewable energy, semiconductors, and space.
As India and Malaysia are keen to explore ways to further deepen and boost our ties, lawyers in both these countries are set to play a pivotal role as positive contributors and advisors in the legal landscape closely tied to both countries’ potential for economic growth. As a result, knowledge-sharing has become more critical than ever. Exchange and cooperation through soft means are more relevant than ever. And shared perspectives on the Indo-Pacific, ASEAN, West Asia, and other regional and global issues have become an important part of the conversation.
In this context and more, the ANNUAL LEGAL ERA MALAYSIA LAW AWARDS 2024 is a step in that direction. We believe that all lawyers are globally nation-builders. With these Awards serving as a platform for visibility, we will move closer to becoming one voice-one community that enables advocacy and policy at a mega scale.

The Awards are open for Submissions.
The selection criteria include service type and range, nature of business and operation, and individual/team expertise, among others. The nomination & selection process is based on market reviews, surveys, and peer reviews from In-House Counsel in Malaysia. We follow an intense methodology for selection. The team will conduct extensive research that assesses the leading regional and domestic law firms in Malaysia. The filtered ones will then be passed on to a jury - an accomplished and independent fleet of stalwarts from the legal industry and academia. They will examine the information and churn out unbiased ranks. From there, only the finest and earning finalists will be shortlisted through another rigorous study.
