Shwetasree Majumder is an alumnus of the National Law School, Bangalore. Once the youngest equity partner in a large Indian IP firm, she founded Fidus Law Chambers in 2008. Shwetasree concentrates her practice in litigation, enforcement and counseling in intellectual property, technology, advertising and trade secrets matters across a broad spectrum of industries.

Shwetasree was the first woman from India to be elected to the Board of Directors of the International Trademark Association (INTA), for the period 2013-2015.

She is a Panelist under the WIPO Uniform Dispute Resolution Policy.

Shwetasree has been the Co-Chair of an INTA-CIPAM Working Group set up under the aegis of the DIPP, Ministry of Commerce, Government of India, tasked with developing materials on the subject of Intellectual Property Rights for children under the National Education Policy. She has conducted a live webinar on Facebook on behalf of the Innovation Cell, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India on IP Rights, in January 2019, which saw close to 10,000 attendees.

Shwetasree has authored the India Chapters in Brand Protection Online and Trade Secret Protection by Globe Business Publishing, London.

She has been appointed Amicus Curiae by Appellate Benches of the Delhi High Court in for determining the threshold of intermediary liability in Myspace Inc. v. Super Cassettes Industries Ltd., and, to opine on copyright practice and procedure under Indian law in Visakha Chemicals v. Raj Kumar Saraf.

She has also been appointed amicus curiae by a Single Judge of the Delhi High Court, to evolve practice guidelines in IP matters. She was part of the six-member Committee that drafted amendments to the Delhi High Court Original Side Rules, that were notified in November 2018.

She has been the Indian contributor to the Global Trademark Report Card (2018, 2019) and the Special 301 submission to the office of the US Trade Representative as a part of the Trademark Working Group.

Shwetasree is a prolific speaker and also regularly conducts police, judicial and customs training.

She is a trained Indian classical singer and also enjoys writing. She avidly devours late night crime shows.
