Ms. Daizy Chawla is a Senior Partner with S&A Law Offices, where she heads the Corporate and Allied Laws Practice Group and the Intellectual Property Practice Group.
A Bar Council of Delhi member since 2005, Ms. Chawla has had a prolific career advising domestic and international clients across varied industry verticals like Real Estate and Infrastructure, Hospitals and Hospitality, Ports, Mining, Educational institutions, Manufacturing, and Import and Export, to name a few. She regularly advises on a variety of issues pertaining to domestic and cross-border corporate tax, incorporation, corporate restructuring, corporate governance, FDI/FEMA, SEBI, ECB, etc. She assists on regulatory issues, and day-to-day advisory (including Tax and Corporate advisory) related to the Projects.
Ms. Chawla regularly handles IBC matters and has been part of many landmark judgements in favor of her clients.
She has always been vocal about sharing knowledge. She regularly shares her expertise with society through Pro Bono work for various domestic and international matters. She is actively associated with Advocates for International Development (A4ID) and Trust Law, the Thomson Reuters Foundation’s global pro bono legal programme. Her opinions and insights on crucial matters are often covered in well-respected media news journals.
In her 17 years of practice, she has earned many awards and accolades. She has been recently recognized among India’s A-List lawyers by IBLJ in 2022, Recommended Lawyer in Corporate, IPR and Tax by Legal 500 in 2022, as one of the ‘Top 50 Managing Partners’ in the Legal Powerlist 2021 by Forbes and Legitquest.
Ms. Chawla is also a regular contributor to the World Bank Survey and has been awarded a Certificate of Appreciation from the World Bank for contribution to its various publications.
