Dr. Timo Karsten As a specialist in employment law, Timo provides legal guidance to national and international companies on collective and individual employment law issues.

A focus of Timo’s practice is on planning and implementing 1st and 2nd generation outsourcing projects in an employment law context as well as company restructuring measures. In doing so, he also represents companies’ interests in relation to works councils and social partners.

Timo also provides advice on contingent workforce, designing and transferring company pension provisions, on performance-based pay, and on alternative measures for reducing HR costs. He provides legal guidance to the managers of start-ups and new companies in respect to matters of social insurance status.

Timo is a member of Osborne Clarke’s India Desk and Nordic Desk. He supports Indian corporations in relation to their German acquisitions and the associated integration of employment law within companies operating in Germany. He has developed models for the international secondment of specialist and management employees.

Due to his good business connections in Northern Europe, he also advises clients from Finland and Scandinavia on their business activities in Germany and on cross-border legal issues.
