David Goh is widely known in the Asia Pacific region for his expertise in large, complex commercial disputes, whether in litigation, arbitration or other forms of dispute resolution. In particular, David has represented clients in large shareholder disputes, insolvency and matters relating to internal company matters. He is also often called upon to handle cross-border matters, and has built up significant experience in dealing with issues relating to conflict of laws or private international law.
David’s other key practice relates to product liability. He advises and acts for clients in defending their products. In particular, he is responsible for overseeing the defense and co-ordination of product liability matters for a large luxury German brand covering all of Asia. David is also a regular contributor on several publications dealing with product liability matters. He advises a large conglomerate, which distributes two luxury brands in more than 11 countries in Southeast Asia in all aspects of their business in the region, including product liability issues, corporate, commercial matters and agreements, compliance and disputes.
David’s previous experience as senior counsel in large conglomerates has also given him a perspective on client needs and anticipating or guiding them accordingly. He has developed proven methodologies in assisting companies to coordinate and manage their in-house and external legal service and continues to be consulted on such matters.
In both practice and senior in-house roles, David was heavily involved in compliance matters, especially in relation to anticorruption matters and investigations. This includes creating internal systems to comply with the requirements of the relevant anti-corruption legislation and participating in internal investigations in respect of potential breaches.
