Allen & Overy Lucy Murphy on board to head its marketing and communications sphere
Lucy Murphy will replace A&M's Global CMO Richard Grove as its Global Chief Marketing and Communication Officer
Allen & Overy is all set to get its new Global Chief Marketing and Communications Officer. Lucy Murphy will join the firm in July, Allen & Overy has announced.
Lucy will replace A&O's highly regarded Global CMO, Richard Grove, who is retiring from the firm after nearly 14 years.
She will join A&O after spending 12 years at Freshfields - the latter six as Chief Marketing Officer.
"We are absolutely thrilled to bring Lucy to our firm. She is widely recognised as a leader in her field and combines huge experience with a fantastic record of delivery and strategic focus that is immensely valuable. I am very confident that she will play a key part in helping to deliver on our ambitious vision for the firm," Gareth Price, A&O's Managing Partner, commented.
"I would also like to thank Richard Grove for everything he has done for the firm over the last 14 years and wish him all the best for the future," Gareth Price said.
Lucy, who prior to joining Freshfields held senior roles at Linklaters says, "Allen & Overy is an outstanding firm with an enviable brand and I'm excited to be sitting on the firm's Executive Committee, working with the partnership and the marketing team to help drive the delivery of A&O's global strategy. I would though also like to thank Freshfields for my time at the firm and wish them all the best for the future."
Allen & Overy is in the top 10 international law firms and a member of the UK's Magic Circle of leading law firms. A&O advised on more transactional deals than any other law firm in the world in 2019 and was one of two firms to have surpassed the US$1 trillion mark in terms of deal value, totalling US$1.16 trillion.
"There are significant opportunities and challenges coming out of the pandemic, as well as the new geopolitical landscape," Gareth said.
"The continued collaboration of our partners and our marketing team will be central to maintaining and growing our market position over the coming years, building on the excellent work Richard Grove has done. I look forward very much to working with Lucy when she arrives in the summer," Gareth added.
