White & Case hires Jaime Rossi as a partner in Madrid
He was earlier working as a counsel with Herbert Smith Freehills
Global law firm White & Case has expanded its global debt finance practice with the addition of Jaime Rossi as a partner in Madrid, Spain.
Rossi advises international sponsors, financial institutions, debt funds and corporate borrowers on financing transactions across the full-credit spectrum, from loan origination and syndication to restructuring and distressed investment.
Eric Leicht, the head of global debt finance practice at the firm commented, "White & Case has developed a reputation in the Spanish market for supporting landmark deals for large, listed corporates and global investment banks. Adding another experienced debt finance lawyer like Rossi to the partner mix in Madrid sends a message that we have not settled, and intend to build on our run, acting for some of the biggest, most sophisticated players in the Spanish market."
Colin Harley, the head of the regional section, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) banking remarked, "Rossi is an experienced lawyer with excellent technical skills and a strong market reputation whose broad finance practice and client relationships are an exciting fit with our established practice in Madrid. He joins Madrid's active banking team, led by partner Fernando Navarro, and is another high-quality addition to our strong banking team in Spain and across EMEA."
Oliver Brettle, a partner, and member of the firm's global executive committee stated, "Rossie is the fourth lateral partner to join our successful EMEA banking practice in 2022, following the additions of Monica Barton and Paul Yin in London, and Neeloferr Roy in Paris. He also represents the continuation of an exciting year for our strategically important Madrid office, where we have further strengthened our M&A capabilities with the addition of lateral partner Javier Monzón from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer."
Earlier working with Herbert Smith Freehills as a counsel, Rossi has nearly two decades of experience in domestic and cross-border transactions. His particular focus is on advising borrowers and lenders on leverage acquisition finance, real estate finance, syndicated lending, and restructuring.
