NYSBA President-elect appoints law firm's real estate associate Yelena Nersesyan to its Committee on Law, Youth and Citizenship
The US international law firm Weil, Gotshal & Manges' Real Estate associate Yelena Nersesyan has been named as a Member of the New York State Bar Association's Committee on Law, Youth and Citizenship.
Her appointment to the key committee was cleared by the NYSBA President-elect T. Andrew Brown. It came into effect from 1 June 2021.
The Committee on Law, Youth and Citizenship is in charge of developing and participating in education programs for the people of New York State, including programs for the training of students, teachers and adults. The award-winning Committee is one of the largest civic and law-related education programs in the US.
Yelena, who did her masters in banking, corporate and finance law from Fordham University School of Law, is seen as a natural team leader and a mentor. She advises clients on joint ventures, acquisition, disposition, financing and refinancing of real estate properties including hotels, retail properties, industrial properties, office buildings and multi-family properties throughout the US.
She also works with clients on real estate matters for corporate and restructuring transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments and corporate finance.
Yelena was recognised as a 2019 'Rising Star' by the American Bar Association.
