Corporate partner Simon Branigan has taken over as the new Global Head of Corporate of the Magic Circle law firm Linklaters. Simon succeeded Aedamar Comiskey who is now the firm's Senior Partner-Elect. He began his new role on 1 July.
Simon has been associated with Linklaters for the past 23 years, having joined the firm in 1998. He became a partner in the firm's London office in 2009. He has extensive experience advising corporates, financial institutions and investment trusts on mergers and acquisitions (both public and private), joint ventures and equity capital markets transactions.
Simon has been involved in some of the most complex and high-profile multi-jurisdictional transactions spanning the mining, retail, consumer, and oil and gas sectors. He also has extensive experience in the financial services sector and has been the co-head of the firm's bank sector.
"Simon is a market-leading deal lawyer alongside whom I have had the pleasure of working for over 23 years. He stands out for his commitment to recruiting and developing top talent and delivering excellent client service. I'm looking forward to seeing the global corporate practice go from strength to strength under his collaborative leadership," Aedamar Comiskey, said about his successor.
Linklaters' global corporate practice advises clients across the globe on their most challenging transactions. The practice is at the forefront of developing innovative structures to simplify the complexities inherent in corporate deals in both established and emerging markets.
