Sharmil Bhushan joins Kochhar & Co along with her banking and finance practice team
The partner count at the firm's offices in India and Dubai is now 58
Sharmil Bhushan has joined Kochhar & Co as a partner, along with her banking & finance practice team in Mumbai. She was earlier a partner at HSA Advocates for over two years.
With over 16 years of experience, Bhushan has advised Indian and multinational banks, NBFCs, financial institutions and corporates across the sectors on various aspects of Indian laws.
On her joining the firm, Rohit Kochhar, the founder & managing partner commented, "I warmly welcome Bhushan and her team to the Kochhar family. Her vast experience across the BFSI space and her deep domain knowledge will augment our practice and offerings to both Indian and global clients."
Bhushan remarked, "I am excited to be a part of Kochhar & Co and looking forward to growing the practice by leveraging the available synergies and the resources and adding value through my experience and knowledge."
Bhushan completed her LL.B. from the Government Law College, Mumbai in 2006 and earned her LL.M. from the University of Mumbai in 2012.
She worked as an advocate at Thakker & Thakker for seven years and at Economic Laws Practice for over two years. She was also the head of legal and compliance at Essel Finance for over six years. She spent a year as a partner at Khaitan Legal Associates.
