Roop Loomba Appointed as General Counsel & Head of Legal (Regional) at Akzonobel
Roop Loomba Appointed as General Counsel & Head of Legal (Regional) at Akzonobel
Akzonobel has welcomed Roop Loomba as their new General Counsel and Head of Legal (Regional).
Roop brings with her extensive experience, having previously served as the General Counsel and Head of Ethics and Compliances at Rolls Royce India and South Asia. Her stint with the company's Indian subsidiary lasted for nearly four years.
Following her work with Rolls Royce, Roop Loomba returned to her family law firm, Loomba Legal Services, which she co-founded in 2016.
With over two decades of experience in Legal Operations, Roop has a comprehensive understanding of a wide range of legal activities, including Legal Strategy Planning, Litigation, Business Partnering, Compliances, Business Divestment, Integration, and Factory Compliances.
In 2011, she commenced her career as a litigation lawyer in the High Court of Punjab and Haryana. She quickly gained recognition and was subsequently appointed to the panel responsible for managing the legal affairs of Punjab's government-owned companies.
Roop has served in various in-house roles for several corporations including Castrol India, Hindustan Unilever, Louis Dreyfus Commodities, Philips Electronics India Limited, and Whirlpool India.
Roop possesses extensive knowledge of Civil, Criminal & Commercial Laws, Corporate Laws, Food Laws, Constitutional Laws of India, Legal Metrology Laws, Labour Laws, and Sales Tax Laws, among others. She has established herself as an expert in administering legal operations across the Indian sub-continent, including South Asian countries.
