Meeru Gupta Appointed As Head Of Legal At Bata India
She was previously serving as a General Counsel at Varun Beverages, a part of the R J Corporation Group
Bata India has appointed Meeru Gupta as Head of Legal. Her strategic expertise and customer-centric approach will boost the company’s prospects.
Meeru has over two decades of experience navigating complex legal landscapes across India and emerging markets.
Commenting on the appointment, Gunjan Shah, MD & CEO of Bata India stated, “Meeru’s appointment marks a significant step for Bata India, aligning with the company’s commitment to excellence. With her strategic legal acumen, she will proficiently steer the legal landscapes, contributing to business growth. With her passion for mentoring and empowering others, we look forward to having her in the Bata family.”
On her joining, Meeru remarked, “I am excited to join Bata India, a company renowned for its rich legacy of trust and unwavering commitment to quality. As I take on the mantle of the head of legal, I am committed to leading with compassion and fostering a collaborative environment. My goal is to empower the Bata family with my expertise in providing efficient legal counsel."
Meeru was previously serving as general counsel at Varun Beverages, a part of the R J Corporation Group. She led the legal practice, formulated litigation strategies, and managed cross-border acquisitions. She also worked with Philips India, as director of legal and compliance and made valuable decisions across divisions, including lighting, consumer lifestyle and healthcare.
