Marwa Elborai boosts A&O leveraged finance bench in London
Marwa Elborai boosts A&O leveraged finance bench in London
Allen & Overy has appointed a high yield partner Marwa Elborai to boost the firm's leveraged finance practice in London.
Representing issuers and banks, credit funds and other lenders on complex corporate financings, Marwa has counselled on cross-border transactions in the UK, across Europe and the Middle East.
Elborai is US-qualified and has been a partner at Shearman & Sterling since 2016, having joined the firm a decade earlier. She has a broad practice with a specific emphasis on high yield debt offerings, U.S. federal securities laws, leveraged finance, project bond offerings, general debt capital markets transactions and debt restructurings. Marwa has also delivered specialist agreement advice for her clients on high produce covenant technology loan dealings.
Nick Clark, A&O's co-head of global leveraged finance, said: "Well-known for her highly technical skills and collaborative approach, Marwa's arrival will further support our European high yield bench. Following the arrival of Brad Weyland in 2021 and her project bond expertise provides further enhancement to our infrastructure finance expertise."
"Great to welcome Marwa to our global leveraged finance practice. High yield proficiency is a serious part of the offering in conveying a market leading leveraged finance franchise for our clients. Given the current economic cycle, we also anticipate Marwa's widespread restructuring experience will prove very valuable to the clients we deal in this space," added Denise Gibson, co-head of global leveraged finance.
Kevin Muzilla, head of European high yield added: "Remarkable 18 months it's been for our European high yield team which was acknowledged particularly at the IFLR Europe 2022 Awards where we acquired Team and Deal of the Year."
