Ben Higson has been welcomed as a partner at Vinson & Elkins' London office, where he will provide strategic direction and competence to the firm's corporate practice.
As part of his new position, Higson will also lead the London office's corporate practice. He has joined the firm from Hogan Lovells.
In the field of mergers and acquisitions (M&A), Ben is considered to be among London's best lawyers. We believe his background in recruiting and team development will position Vinson & Elkins for expansion and sustained success. His customer base spans a wide variety of industries, as stated by the Chair of the firm, Keith Fullenweider.
Joint ventures M&A, and other business transactions are all part of Higson's transactional experience. His business practice has spanned a wide range of industries, but he has particular expertise in the infrastructure, energy, and industrial sectors. He also regularly advises clients on cross-border issues involving Europe and Japan.
Vinson & Elkins' Co-Head of Corporate, Kaam Sahely mentioned, "Throughout 2022, we have witnessed significant demand from our private capital and strategic customers for our experience in infrastructure transactions across the technology, transportation, and energy sectors, including notably the energy transition. Ben is an ideal candidate due to his extensive background in these areas and his proven track record of leading transaction teams. Moreover, I'm excited to collaborate with him to significantly improve our foreign offering."
Higson remarked that he saw "huge opportunities" for himself and his clients at Vinson & Elkins due to the firm's transactional activity, especially in the energy and infrastructure industries. He looks forward in contributing to the growth of London office and the firm's international reach with some of the brightest minds in the business.
Higson earned a Bachelor of Laws from Bristol University and then Legal Practice Certificate from Oxford University.
Vinson & Elkins has been a leading law firm for over a century, serving clients in a wide range of vital economic sectors. V&E's 12 international offices foster a culture of cooperation that allows the firm's lawyers to provide clients with decades of combined knowledge in a wide range of practice areas, including international transactions, investments, projects, and disputes.
