Lakshmi Rajagopalan Rejoins Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas as Partner in Financial Services and Technology Practice
Lakshmi Rajagopalan has rejoined Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas as a Partner in the Financial Services and Technology Practice, where she will be based in the Bengaluru office.
Bringing over fifteen years of expertise in projects, banking and finance, and fintech laws, Lakshmi previously served in an in-house role at Udaan. There, she managed banking and finance transactions across group entities and led legal and regulatory compliance, with a strong focus on RBI-related matters. Her responsibilities included oversight of a Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC), a payment aggregator, and a lending service provider. She also contributed to regulatory projects and supported senior management on strategic initiatives such as equity fundraising and group reorganization. During her prior tenure at Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas and its predecessor firm, Lakshmi advised banks, financial institutions, funds, NBFCs, and investors on financing and debt investments, including structured lending in multiple sectors.
Reeba Chacko, Senior Partner at Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, expressed her enthusiasm about Lakshmi’s return, stating, “She brings rich experience and knowledge that will enhance our financial services and technology capabilities. We welcome her back to the firm.”
Lakshmi graduated from the National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS), Kerala, and holds an LL.M. from the University of California, Berkeley, with a Certificate of Specialization in Environmental Law and Clean Technology Laws. Commenting on her return, Lakshmi shared, “I am excited to be re-joining CAM, from where I had started my professional journey almost 15 years back. Looking forward to being back amongst my tribe and collaborating with some of the best minds in the profession.”
