Khaitan & Co Welcomes Brijesh Kothary As Partner In Indirect Tax Practice
Khaitan & Co has strengthened its Bengaluru team by hiring Brijesh Kothary, an indirect tax specialist who was previously a partner at the tax-focused law firm Lakshmikumaran and Sridharan (LKS).
Kothary joins Khaitan & Co as a Partner in the Indirect Tax practice. He specializes in Indirect Tax and Customs, Goods and Services Tax (GST), Central Excise, Service Tax, and VAT laws.
With extensive experience in optimizing tax exposure and structuring efficient business models, Kothary has advised multinational and large domestic companies, including major public sector undertakings, on creating efficient tax structures and resolving complex business and legal issues. At LKS, he also managed several long-term retainer clients, providing guidance on their daily business transactions.
Kothary will be based in Bengaluru, where Khaitan & Co now boasts 18 Partners. The Bengaluru market has been seeing significant lateral Partner movement in 2024.
