Khaitan & Co adds Promode Murugavelu along with team in Chennai
He was a partner at Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas
Promode Murugavelu has joined Khaitan & Co as a partner in Chennai along with his team of associates.
Speaking on the development, Amar Sinhji, the executive director at Khaitan & Co remarked, “We are very pleased to welcome Promode Murugavelu with a team of associates. Murugavelu will be based at our Chennai office and will help us consolidate our Chennai presence by leveraging his extensive experience in M&A, private equity, corporate commercial law, and on-ground experience. The overall South Indian market is a focused growth area for us and Murugavelu will play an important role for the firm in the coming years.”
Murugavelu is a 2006 graduate of the West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata. With over 17 years of experience, he specializes in M&A, private equity, and general corporate advisory.
Murugavelu has previously worked with leading law firms including Dua Associates and Tatva Legal. Until now, he was working as a partner with Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas.
