John Johnston rejoins Vinson & Elkins amidst expansion plans in New York
He served at Baker Botts for five years
Vinson & Elkins has announced that M&A and capital markets lawyer John Johnston has returned to the firm as a counsel in New York.
Johnston represents businesses in a wide range of corporate transactions, including initial public offerings, registered and unregistered offerings of equity and debt securities, and M&A transactions.
He advises companies on shareholder activism and corporate governance, Exchange Act, beneficial ownership, stock exchange compliance, and other securities law matters.
Johnston began his career at Vinson & Elkins and later worked with Baker Botts for five years.
Having received his JD from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and a bachelor's degree from Georgetown University, he has represented public and private companies and investment funds, based in the US and abroad, across a broad range of industries, including energy, REITs, shipping, retail, media, chemicals, and pharmaceuticals.
