DLA Piper appoints Louise Hennessey as a Partner to its Capital Markets Team
DLA Piper appoints Louise Hennessey as a Partner to its Capital Markets Team
In the wake of several recent appointments strengthening DLA Piper's Finance, Projects, and Restructuring (FP&R) practice group, the firm is now expanding its team with the addition of Louise Hennessey, who will join as a partner in the London-based Capital Markets team.
Hennessey joins from Allen & Overy, where she spent over 11 years based in Singapore and London, most recently as counsel. Her most recent role at the firm was as counsel. During her tenure, she accumulated extensive expertise in various debt capital markets products and handled a wide array of related matters. Notably, her focus has been on emerging markets and social housing bond issues.
At DLA Piper, she will use her wealth of experience and expertise, in conjunction with the firm's expansive regional and global network. Her role will involve providing counsel to clients and organisations across various transactions, and collaborating with different practice groups and sector teams within the firm. This includes partnering with DLA Piper's real estate, corporate, financial regulatory, and tax teams.
Hennessey has a strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in addition to her client-related responsibilities. At her former firm, she served as the chair of the gender equality network. Furthermore, she has actively contributed to several pro bono initiatives throughout her career.
“As we look to realise our growth ambitions, we are pleased to announce Louise’s appointment to our Capital Markets team in London. With a strong track record, Louise brings a wealth of experience, industry insights, and a proactive approach that will aid DLA Piper’s clients in a range of sectors and across practice groups. Alongside an impressive portfolio, Louise is keenly interested in areas such as DEI, which are extremely important to DLA Piper as a values-led organisation,” Matt Christmas, UK Group Head, Finance, FP&R, said.
