Dennis Manfredi hired as co-head of the US insurance practice by Clifford Chance
Dennis Manfredi hired as co-head of the US insurance practice by Clifford Chance
He was earlier working in the insurance and financial services group at Sidley Austin
Leading international law firm Clifford Chance has announced that Dennis Manfredi has joined as co-head of its US insurance practice. He is the 12th senior lateral hire this year, reflecting the firm's ambitious growth trajectory.
Manfredi's appointment adds further depth to the firm's industry-leading global insurance offering. Clifford Chance is one of the two law firms ranked in Band 1 with the Chambers for Global Insurance.
Ashley Prebble, the global head of insurance at the firm, remarked, "We are delighted to welcome Manfredi to the firm. His hire demonstrates our commitment to strengthening our market-leading global offering to both insurance sector clients as well as financial investor clients increasingly active in this space. He owns a much-deserved reputation as a leader in his field and his arrival will deliver immediate, significant value to our US and global clients and bolster our global platform."
Joe Cosentino, the co-head of US insurance at Clifford Chance, stated "The insurance industry is experiencing unprecedented change. The technology-driven disruption, regulatory shifts, intense competition, and changing consumer expectations and prospects in the emerging markets mean that our clients seek wide-ranging guidance that can only be delivered by a global firm. Manfredi brings a level of knowledge that complements the foundation of our practice currently."
Manfredi, who was earlier serving at Sidley Austin's insurance and financial services group, added, "Clifford Chance is differentiated in the legal industry with its spectacular global offerings and platform. I am delighted to blend my knowledge and skills with the network to support both the US and global insurance, reinsurance, and other financial institution clients."
He has over 23 years of experience in guiding insurance and reinsurance companies with transactional and regulatory matters, including mergers and acquisitions, domestic and cross-border reinsurance transactions, reinsurance collateral arrangements, and pension risk transfer transactions.
Manfredi has also worked on innovative structured finance matters including private equity-backed life and annuity sidecars and other third-party capital-financed reinsurance vehicles, insurtech, and regulatory reserve and embedded value transactions.
