Deepak Acharya - Chief Risk Officer and GC of Wipro set to join Aditya Birla Group as its Global General Counsel
Deepak Acharya who is working with Wipro as the company's Chief Risk Officer and General Counsel is set to join Aditya Birla Group as its Global General Counsel. Deepak will be with Wipro till October.
As the global head of legal functions at Wipro, Deepak ensured ethics and statutory compliance across geographies, upholding the company's tradition of doing business transparently and responsibly. He is skilled in managing complex, cross-functional assignments to drive the adoption of best practices of corporate governance without compromising on corporate social responsibilities. At Wipro, Deepak is responsible for Legal & Compliance, Enterprise Risk Management, Enterprise Cyber Security, Global Data Privacy and Global Government Relations functions for Wipro Limited.
Prior to joining Wipro, Deepak was Director and Associate General Counsel for the Singapore operations of Procter & Gamble, the world's largest consumer goods company. The FMCG veteran has worked for P&G in Asia, Central & Eastern Europe, Greater China, the Middle East, Africa and in the Asia-Pacific region.
Practicing for more than 25 years in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods Industry, Deepak is an experienced lawyer. He is a certified Corporate Trainer for various Corporate Training Programs like Corporate Athlete, 7 Habits of Highly Effective People and Coaching for Success.
Deepak graduated from the Government Law College, Mumbai. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India and an Associate Member of the All India Management Association.
