Ashurst Appoints Adam Soames as Chief Business Development Officer
Ashurst has appointed Adam Soames as its new Chief Business Development Officer, effective November 4. Soames will be based in London and will lead the firm’s Clients, Markets, and Growth division. In his new role, he will work closely with Jamie Ng, Ashurst’s Global Client and Markets Partner, to execute the firm’s business development strategy through to 2027.
With nearly 30 years of experience in business development, strategic transformation, and operational management, Soames joins Ashurst from Hogan Lovells, where he served as the Global Director of Business Development and Strategy for 17 years. His career also includes leadership positions at Deloitte, PwC, and Grant Thornton, bringing a wealth of expertise to Ashurst as the firm continues to position itself as a trusted advisor in addressing complex global challenges.
Jamie Ng welcomed Soames to the firm, stating, “Adam’s appointment is a key part of our strategy to enhance the firm’s market position and continue delivering exceptional value to our clients. His expertise in business development will be vital as we pursue our growth objectives over the coming years.”1
Soames, for his part, expressed enthusiasm about the role, saying, “I’m thrilled to join Ashurst, a firm with such a distinct vision and commitment to excellence in client service. I look forward to collaborating with the leadership team and helping guide the Clients, Markets, and Growth division towards continued success.”
