Amber Gupta Joins NSE As Its SVP – Head Legal
Amber Gupta has joined the National Stock Exchange of India Limited (NSE) India, as the new SVP – Head Legal. He is set to bring his expertise at NSE India, ensuring strong adherence to legal and regulatory frameworks.
Amber has more than two decades of rich experience in the field of Legal, Compliance, Regulatory, Dispute Resolution, Litigation Management and Corporate secretarial. He is specialized in Financial Services legislations, having extensive experience in Insurance, Securities & Capital Markets, SEBI Laws, Broking and Mutual Fund, Banking and Non-Banking Finance, IT and Cyberlaws, IPR, E-commerce, commercial contract, arbitration and litigation and Corporate Laws and Practice.
Prior to joining NSE India, Amber Gupta held the position of Head Corporate Legal, Company Secretary, and Compliance Officer at Aditya Birla Capital for more than three years. During his tenure at Aditya Birla Capital, he formulated and implemented best Corporate Governance, corporate Secretarial practices and firm wide policies in the area of corporate compliance and stakeholders including Shareholder Management and board management. He was also responsible for safeguarding the Company's lawful privileges and provide appropriate legal advisory and support on corporate compliance matters and governance related to all subsidiary companies of Aditya Birla Capital.
Amber began his career with Sahara India Financial Corporation and later has worked with organizations such as J.P. Morgan, Yes Bank Limited, as also Reliance Capital Limited where he managed compliance, corporate governance and legal functions. Later he joined Aditya Birla Money where he was the Head of Compliance, Legal and Secretarial. His responsibilities included implementing legal and compliance processes, drafting key agreements and advising on business transactions.
In 2014, Amber joined Aditya Birla Sun Life Insurance as the Head Legal and Company Secretary where he served for 7 years. He was part of the Senior Management Team where he led a dynamic team across litigation management, dispute resolution, contract management, IPR, Corporate laws, statutory and regulatory issues and Governance matters. His efforts in digitization and process enhancements earned multiple accolades, including the Golden Peacock Award for Excellence in Corporate Governance by Institute of Directors in 2019. He also won many accolades during his tenure.
