Allen & Overy appoints Josh Birenbaum as partner for West Coast growth
Josh Birenbaum was welcomed to Allen & Overy ("A&O") as a partner in the firm's Private Equity division. Josh joins A&O's Los Angeles office from Winston & Strawn LLP, where he was a partner in the Private Equity Group,
When it comes to M&A, leveraged buyouts, joint ventures, strategic acquisitions, and equity financings, Josh is the go-to guy for counsel. His experience spans both public and private enterprises. In addition to technology, consumer goods and services, manufacturing (including automotive, aerospace, and, defence), and healthcare, Josh has experience in a diverse range of other sectors as well.
In the past two years, A&O has hired 48 lateral partners in the United States and Josh's entry is part of the company's nationwide expansion.
Senior partner in the United States Tim House commented, "As we continue to grow our Private Equity business, Josh's expertise further strengthens our offering and our ability to support our elite customers operating across the U.S." This is in addition to the firm's already market-leading Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) and Leveraged Finance (LF) practices.
Josh commented, "I am happy to join A&O and play a part in extending the firm's Private Equity and West Coast offers. With A&O's stellar reputation around the world, I'm excited to work with teams all over the world to provide excellent service to our clients.
After attending the United States Military Academy at West Point, Josh received the prestigious Distinguished Honor Graduate designation and was promoted to the rank of Second Lieutenant in the United States Army. The Gould School of Law at the University of Southern California is where he obtained his Juris Doctor.
