Miura & Partners Forms Strategic Alliance With Malaysia’s Donovan & Ho
Miura & Partners Forms Strategic Alliance With Malaysia’s Donovan & Ho
Japanese law firm Miura & Partners has announced a strategic alliance with Malaysian law firm Donovan & Ho, marking another milestone in its Southeast Asian expansion.
The alliance, set to begin in March, will establish a comprehensive "one-stop service" platform in Kuala Lumpur. This platform will provide legal, taxation, and accounting services tailored to Japanese companies engaged in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and other business ventures in Malaysia.
Donovan & Ho, founded in 2014, comprises a team of 12 lawyers, including four partners. The team will collaborate closely with Ryoichi Inoue, Miura's head partner for Asia Practice, who brings significant expertise in Malaysian M&A transactions. Additionally, Shigenobu Kanao from M&P Asia Corporation will be based in Kuala Lumpur full-time to support the initiative.
This move builds on Miura & Partners' recent regional growth, which includes the opening of offices in Jakarta and Ho Chi Minh City in 2023 and 2024, respectively. A Bangkok office is also set to open in March.
Established in 2019, the Tokyo-based Miura & Partners has rapidly expanded to over 100 lawyers. The firm works closely with M&P Asia Corporation, its consulting arm launched in 2021, focusing on emerging markets across Asia.
