K&L Gates Expands Singapore Presence With Corporate Partners David Kuo And Meraj Noor
K&L Gates has strengthened its Singapore office, K&L Gates Straits Law, with the addition of corporate partners David Kuo and Meraj Noor from DLA Piper, enhancing the US firm’s presence in the Lion City.
Ryan Dwyer, Asia regional managing partner of K&L Gates, expressed, “Their client connectivity, commitment to excellence, and outstanding credentials will add depth and breadth to our regional corporate and transactional capabilities.”
David Kuo, a California-admitted lawyer and Singapore-registered foreign lawyer, brings 20 years of legal expertise across the US, Hong Kong, and Singapore. Formerly with Allen & Overy and Milbank, he joined DLA Piper in 2020, focusing on cross-border M&A, private equity, and venture capital transactions in real estate, technology, and energy sectors.
Meraj Noor, previously deputy chair of DLA Piper's global India group, has over 16 years of experience. A qualified Indian lawyer and Singapore-registered foreign lawyer, he has practiced in Dubai, India, and Singapore, specializing in cross-border corporate deals with a focus on Indian-related transactions, including capital markets.
M Rajaram, chair of K&L Gates Straits Law, noted, “As the Indian economy booms, Singapore has become the preferred springboard for outbound Indian investments. David and Meraj bring both wide experience and deep understanding of the market, and the needs of Indian clients and clients throughout the Asia-Pacific region and beyond.”
