Kirkland & Ellis acted for Tims China's Acquisition of Popeyes China
Kirkland & Ellis, a leading law firm, provided legal counsel to TH International Limited (also known as Tims China and traded under Nasdaq: THCH) in its acquisition of PLKC International (also known as Popeyes China) through an all-share transaction.
This deal positions Tims China as the exclusive operator and developer of the Popeyes® brand in mainland China and Macau.
Known for its unique menu and commitment to flavourful and authentic food, Popeyes® has a rich history spanning 50 years and operates over 4,100 quick-service restaurant locations around the world. The transaction successfully closed on March 30, 2023.
Tims China, the parent company of the exclusive master franchisees of Tim Hortons coffee shops in mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau, as well as Popeyes restaurants in mainland China and Macau, was founded as a joint venture between Cartesian Capital Group and Tim Hortons Restaurants International, a subsidiary of Restaurant Brands International.
Jesse Sheley, Joseph Raymond Casey, Min Lu, and Steve Lin were among the transactional partners who spearheaded the Kirkland team responsible for advising TH International Limited.
Additionally, Armand Della Monica and associates Jiayi Wang and Olivia Wang provided valuable assistance in executing the transaction.
