Zoom Video Reshuffles Legal Team With the Appointment of Cheree McAlpine as CLO
She served as a General Counsel at the business messaging platform Intercom
US video conferencing platform Zoom Video Communications has announced the addition of Cheree McAlpine as its Chief Legal Officer (CLO). She replaces Aparna Bawa, who will now concentrate on her role as the chief operating officer.
McAlpine will oversee all legal matters of the San Jose, California-based firm, which provides virtual meeting software and workplace collaboration tools.
In a statement, Zoom Video stated, “With over 25 years of legal experience in global tech, McAlpine brings a wealth of expertise. We are excited to have her on board as we shape the future of AI-powered collaboration.”
Commenting on her appointment, McAlpine expressed, “I am excited to join Zoom as its chief legal officer. Zoom is revolutionizing collaboration and shaping the future of work around the globe. I am thrilled to be a part of this innovative team and to lead its group of talented legal and compliance professionals.”
McAlpine started her legal career at Sun Microsystems. Until recently, she served as general counsel at Intercom, the business messaging platform. Before that, for four years she was the CLO at the lighting company Lumileds and had stints as the general counsel for the Americas at electronic components maker Avnet. This was followed by Wyse, which she quit in 2012 after Dell acquired the company.
