Yoon & Yang Bolsters Construction And Labor Advisory Capabilities as Sam Park and Jae Woo Jeon Join as Partners
The two served for over a decade at Samsung Electronics Service and Daewoo Engineering & Construction, respectively
Seoul-based firm Yoon & Yang has given a fillip to its construction and labor advisory capabilities by adding Sam Park and Jae Woo Jeon as partners.
While Park earlier served at Samsung Electronics Service as a general counsel and has joined the employment and labor practice group, Jeon was working with Daewoo Engineering & Construction as head of legal and has joined the construction, engineering and public procurement practice group.
On their appointment, Myung Soo Lee, a senior managing partner at Yoon & Yang, commented, “The addition of Park and Jeon will further strengthen our expertise in the construction and labor practice. The firm commits to transcend traditional legal advisory roles to become a more comprehensive and specialized strategic business partner for its clients.”
Park has experience in administrative roles at the National Labour Relations Commission and the Ministry of Employment and Labour. As head of the Korean consumer electronics service conglomerate’s legal team, he advised on labor issues ranging from commission cases, wrongful dismissal claims, industrial accident claims and unfair labor practices. During his 13-year stint at Samsung, with four as a general counsel, he also served as the legal director of a task force for direct employment of staff from partner companies of the conglomerate.
On the other hand, Jeon served as head of legal affairs, and compliance support and, lately handled domestic legal affairs at Daewoo, where he worked for 14 years. He oversaw legal issues concerning real estate development, contracts, construction and general corporations. With ample experience, he will further strengthen the firm’s capability by advising on disputes in high-stake real estate and construction projects.
